Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on planning, execution, and coordination of electrical maintenance to maximize equipment availability and operational efficiency.

You will manage a team of technicians, implement preventative programs, and uphold safety in the workplace, contributing to the facility’s operational integrity in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Electrical Engineering (Electrician, N5 or higher).
• 3–5 years in electrical maintenance with 1–2 years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of motors, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
• Experience with CMMS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance technicians.
• Develop and manage preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide guidance to the team.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement of components.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training for the team.

About the Role

This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and coordination of all electrical maintenance activities within their facility, ensuring high levels of equipment availability and operational efficiency. You will be crucial in managing a team of technicians, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring a safe working environment. This position is key to maintaining the operational integrity of facilities in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical maintenance technicians.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for electrical systems.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide technical guidance to the team.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g., Electrician, N5 or higher).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is advantageous.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
