About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their facilities team in Port Elizabeth . This role is essential for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems within commercial and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs to electrical installations, machinery, and control panels. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical principles and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in power distribution systems, control panels, lighting, and auxiliary equipment.
• Install new electrical components and systems according to specifications and safety codes.
• Interpret electrical schematics , blueprints, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical safety regulations and company procedures.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and perform necessary corrective actions promptly.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a relevant trade certificate (e.g., N3, NQF Level 4) and Wireman's license.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase power, control circuits, and safety devices.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and P&IDs.
