About the Role

Our client is a reputable industrial services company seeking an experienced Electrical Installation and Maintenance Technician to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper installation and repair.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing devices and tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
• Connect power, control, and lighting systems; test electrical equipment and circuits.
• Maintain accurate records of all installation and maintenance activities performed.
• Respond to emergency service calls to address urgent electrical issues.
• Collaborate with other trades and personnel on construction and maintenance projects in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Installation and Maintenance Technician.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, principles, and practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with a variety of electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, clamp meters).
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems.
• Good understanding of safety procedures and best practices in electrical work.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Relevant trade certification or qualification in electrical installation and maintenance is highly preferred.
