Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for our Stellenbosch-based operations. You will maintain and repair plant electrical systems, diagnose faults, and implement preventative maintenance to ensure continuous production.

The role requires hands-on technical ability with control panels, motors, and PLCs, plus adherence to strict safety standards. Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call rotations is essential.

Formación

• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of motor controls, power distribution, and PLC systems.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose electrical issues using test equipment and troubleshoot faults in motors, control circuits, power supplies, and automated machinery.
• Repair and replace electrical components, wiring, and control systems as needed.
• Install new electrical equipment and systems according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs outside of regular hours.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and address issues promptly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.

About the Role

Requirements

• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers).
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of relevant electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work shifts and participate in an on‑call schedule as needed.
• Technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
