Placements24 is seeking a Drilling Fluids Specialist to provide expert support for drilling operations around Polokwane and remote sites. You will manage fluid properties, troubleshoot issues, and optimize drilling fluid programs to ensure safety and efficiency.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering and at least 4 years' experience in drilling fluids within the oil and gas sector. The role offers on-site work in challenging environments with competitive compensation and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or Specialist in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and properties.
• Familiarity with water-based, oil-based, and synthetic-based drilling fluids.
• Experience with fluid testing equipment and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in remote field environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize drilling fluid systems (muds) to meet specific wellbore requirements.
• Perform regular testing and analysis of drilling fluid properties, ensuring they meet required specifications.
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid-related issues.
• Develop drilling fluid programs in coordination with drilling engineers.
• Monitor fluid inventory, manage chemical supplies, and control fluid costs.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding drilling fluid disposal and handling.
