Placements24 is seeking a qualified Drilling Engineer for our client in Sandton to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling programs. You will design well trajectories, specify equipment, manage on-site operations, and drive safety and efficiency across projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a petroleum or related field.
Minimum 4 years of drilling engineering or related experience.
Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques and well-control principles.
Experience with drilling simulation software and well planning tools.
Ability to lead and work under pressure in field environments.

Responsibilities

Design and plan drilling programs, including well trajectories, casing designs, and cementing strategies.
Specify drilling equipment and services required for operations.
Manage drilling operations on-site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor drilling performance, analyze data, and implement improvements.
Supervise drilling crews and contractors, ensuring adherence to best practices.
