Placements24 seeks a Senior Drilling Engineer to join the on-site team in Benoni. You will design well plans, manage drilling risks, and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective completion of wells. This role requires extensive hands-on rig site experience and strong technical expertise in drilling operations.

You will oversee drilling procedures, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvements while upholding HSE standards in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling engineering, with significant hands-on rig site experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of drilling equipment, drilling fluids, cementing, and well control procedures.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and well planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan complex drilling wells , including well trajectory, casing programs, and drilling fluid systems.
• Prepare detailed drilling procedures, cost estimates, and project timelines.
• Supervise drilling operations on the rig site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational plans.
• Manage and mitigate drilling hazards, such as kicks, lost circulation, and stuck pipe.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
