Job summary

Ackermans in Cape Town seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to ensure departmental activities align with the DC plan and to lead and organize the team for optimal performance.

You will manage scheduling, reporting, cost control and safety, while driving best operating practices and asset maintenance across the DC.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 or NQF4 equivalent is essential.
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience in DC/warehouse operations with people management.

Responsibilities

• Execute departmental activities accurately and on time to align with the DC plan.
• Lead the team to deliver exceptional results and drive best operating practices.
• Manage scheduling, reporting, consumable control and cost management.
• Coordinate Health and Safety activities and asset maintenance.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all departmental activities are completed accurately and timeously as per DC plan through effective planning, leading, organizing and managing of the team.

Location: Hagley, Cape Town.

KNOWLEDGE required:

• Warehouse system knowledge (WMS)
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Understanding standard operating procedures within departments
• Driving compliance and standard operating procedures within departments
• Basic Human Resource and Employee Relations knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

• Matric /Grade 12/ NQF level 4 equivalent

Preferred:

• Tertiary Qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Experience working in the operations environment (e.g. DC/warehouse)
• Experience in identifying and achieving short term goals.
• Warehouse Management system and process flows.
• People Managementand developing Teams

Preferred:

• Similar experience in a Clothing/Textile/Retail industry.
