Placements24 is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead city fleet operations from our Sandton hub. The role blends on-site leadership with remote work days, focusing on optimizing schedules, supervising dispatchers and drivers, and ensuring efficient, safe delivery in a dense urban environment.

You will leverage routing software and GPS tools to improve performance, collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams, and drive continuous improvements in routes and resource allocation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in dispatch management, logistics coordination, or fleet operations.
• Proven experience leading a team of dispatchers and/or drivers.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking, and route optimization tools.
• Strong understanding of urban traffic dynamics and logistical challenges.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient assignment of routes and drivers to meet delivery targets.
• Manage, train, and motivate a team of dispatchers and provide support to drivers.
• Utilize dispatch and routing software to optimize delivery schedules and adapt to real-time traffic and operational changes.
• Monitor fleet performance and driver activities to ensure compliance with schedules and company policies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for driver and delivery-related issues, resolving problems effectively and promptly.
• Analyze dispatch data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in route planning and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with other departments, including warehouse and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures for drivers and dispatch staff.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery times, and operational metrics.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new dispatch strategies and technologies.

Our client, a major player in urban logistics and delivery services, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Dispatch Manager to lead their city fleet operations. This hybrid role involves managing dispatch activities from our central hub in Sandton, Gauteng, ZA , with the flexibility to work remotely on designated days. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing delivery schedules, managing a team of dispatchers and drivers, and ensuring efficient fleet utilization within a dense urban environment. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of urban traffic patterns and logistics challenges. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience working in a hybrid model (remote and office-based) is desirable.
• Must be able to report to the Sandton office as required by the hybrid schedule.
