About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform, is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Operations and Logistics to spearhead their supply chain and fulfillment operations from their strategic hub in Polokwane, Limpopo. This senior leadership role is crucial for scaling our client's business, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and last-mile delivery across the region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for all logistics and supply chain operations, supporting rapid business growth from Polokwane.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and returns management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and optimize transportation networks, including carrier relationships, route planning, and cost control for deliveries originating in Limpopo.
• Implement and leverage advanced logistics technologies and systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and data analytics.
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and environmental regulations within operational facilities.
• Collaborate with e-commerce, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and cost per shipment, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and manage the operational budget for the logistics and supply chain function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within e-commerce or a related high-volume distribution environment.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful logistics strategies.
• Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant supply chain technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
