Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the logistics and supply chain operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the supply chain for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and speed.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and suppliers to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Implement and utilize advanced supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility and control.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing logistics and supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, Sales, Operations) to align supply chain activities with business needs.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, developing contingency plans as necessary.
• Drive innovation in logistics and supply chain management to achieve competitive advantages.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing complex, multi-channel supply chains, preferably in the e-commerce sector.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation modes, warehousing strategies, inventory control techniques, and customs regulations.
• Demonstrated success in cost reduction initiatives and process optimization within logistics.
• Proficiency with Supply Chain Management (SCM) software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers and service providers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal .
