Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to aid in maintaining IT systems and support staff across devices. The role involves resolving issues, diagnosing root causes, and ensuring smooth access to files from any device.

You will work with onsite technicians and adhere to SLA guidelines to deliver reliable support. The ideal candidate has a tertiary IT qualification and at least 3 years of desktop support experience, with strong written and verbal communication skills to

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Information Systems and/or Information Technology and/or a related technical certification in an IT field
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Desktop Technician
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support our IT systems and users as a Desktop Support Technician
• Ensure computers and peripherals are functioning properly and efficiently
• Provide support to staff to access files from any device and troubleshoot issues
• Handle tickets assigned by team leader and Level 1 Helpdesk agent
• Perform initial problem diagnosis and outline next steps
• Identify and discuss root causes of user technical issues
• Follow the team’s processes and procedures
• Collaborate with onsite technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Respond to assigned tickets/tasks in line with SLA guidelines

• You will provide support to the company's staff, including making sure they're able to access all their files from any device as well as troubleshooting issues or problems when they arise
• Handling of the tickets assigned to you by your team leader and Level 1 Helpdesk agent
• Initial problem diagnosis of the case as well as next steps
• Identify and discuss root causes of user technical issues
• Correctly follow the processes and procedures set out for your team
• Work together efficiently with onsite technicians to correctly diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Respond to assigned tickets/tasks in accordance with the Service Level Agreement guidelines
