Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to join the Information Security team in Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on safeguarding digital assets, developing robust security strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will conduct security assessments, monitor networks for incidents, and guide IT staff on security best practices, while pursuing relevant certifications to strengthen the security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security analysis or a similar role.
• Experience with SIEM tools and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Monitor security systems and networks for suspicious activities and respond promptly to security incidents.
• Investigate security breaches, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff on security-related matters.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
