Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Analyst to join our Security Operations Center in Nelspruit. The role involves monitoring the organization’s security posture 24/7, detecting threats, and initiating rapid responses to protect digital assets using SIEM and related tools.

You will analyze alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and contribute to SOC playbooks in a dynamic, hybrid work environment, collaborating with a skilled security team to strengthen threat detection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 1–3 years in SOC or similar cybersecurity role.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and EDR.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other tools.
• Analyze security incidents for scope, impact, and root cause.
• Perform initial triage and response for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Document incidents and maintain logs and reports.
• Collaborate to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
• Contribute to SOC procedures and playbooks.
