Job summary

Cashbuild in Makhanda (Eastern Cape) seeks a General Assistant to deliver comprehensive customer service, stock merchandising, price labelling and housekeeping within the store’s designated area.

The role requires communication in English and the local dominant language, the ability to perform basic calculations, and availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. SA ID or work permit essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 and 1 year work related experience, or Grade 12 without related work experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area.
• Valid SA ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Area fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Area kept free of obstacles; shelves labelled correctly.
• Maintain safe checkout and aisle access in line with OHSA.
• Complete required checklists when on duty with Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule.
