Job summary

Cashbuild in Johannesburg is seeking a General Assistant (External Applications Only - Southgate) to provide frontline customer service, assist with stock merchandising, price labelling and housekeeping in the designated area. The role supports store operations by ensuring shelves are stocked, prices are correct and the store layout is followed.

Applicants should have English and local language communication, basic numeracy, and be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related work experience.
• Grade 12 without related work experience acceptable.
• Ability to communicate in English and the local dominant language.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Ensure your area is fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Ensure area is free of obstacles and customers can move safely.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Ensure Checklist completed as required when on duty with Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule.
• Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility.
• Report discrepancies or damaged stock to Store Manager.
