Placements24 is seeking a Cryptocurrency Compliance Officer for a dynamic fintech crypto exchange in Upington, Northern Cape. This hybrid role focuses on regulatory adherence, AML/KYC, and safeguarding digital asset operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Law/Finance/Business)
• Minimum 4 years in compliance/risk in financial services or crypto
• Strong AML/KYC knowledge
• Understanding of crypto/blockchain risks
• Experience implementing compliance programs
• Strong analytical and investigative skills
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Ability to interpret regulatory documents
• CAMS/CFE certifications desirable
• Hybrid/remote work experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies related to cryptocurrency and AML/KYC regulations
• Monitor transactions for suspicious behavior and report accordingly
• Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate compliance risks
• Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory frameworks locally and internationally
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors
• Train staff on compliance requirements and best practices
• Oversee Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML processes
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulators
• Ensure operations align with FinTech and blockchain compliance standards
