Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1-3 years in compliance, risk management, or audit, preferably in financial services.
• Basic understanding of FIC Act, POPIA, FAIS Act.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop within the compliance function.
• Integrity and a strong sense of ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring business activities to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of marketing materials, client onboarding processes, and transaction monitoring reports.
• Support the investigation of potential compliance breaches or suspicious activities.
• Help maintain compliance documentation, records, and logs.
• Assist in the preparation of compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Participate in compliance training sessions and help disseminate compliance information to staff.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and industry best practices.
• Support risk assessment activities and contribute to the enhancement of internal controls.
• Respond to inquiries from business units regarding compliance matters.
• Assist in special projects as assigned by the Compliance Officer.
