Job summary

Crew Life at Sea is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead culinary operations aboard a luxury cruise ship. The role oversees menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management, leveraging ship experience to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years as an Executive Chef in cruise settings, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a deep knowledge of diverse cuisines and food safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef, preferably in a cruise ship setting.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Extensive knowledge of cuisines, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed.
• Must hold a valid passport and be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop menus for all onboard restaurants, taking dietary restrictions and guest preferences into account.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of all meals, ensuring high quality and consistency.
• Manage and train a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff to maintain high performance and service.
• Monitor food and supply inventory levels, placing orders as needed to maintain stock.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Continuously seek ways to improve and enhance culinary offerings on board.
