Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Credit Manager for our client in Kimberley, South Africa. You will lead credit policy development, assess customer creditworthiness, set limits, and oversee collections to minimize bad debt while supporting sales growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field, with at least 5 years in credit management or A/R, strong financial analysis skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in credit management or accounts receivable.
• Experience in credit risk assessment and financial statement analysis.
• Experience with mining/industrial services sector is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software and credit management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
• Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis and credit checks.
• Set and manage customer credit limits and terms of trade.
• Monitor customer accounts for potential credit risks and take appropriate action.
• Oversee the collections process to ensure timely recovery of outstanding receivables.
• Liaise with sales and legal departments on credit-related matters.
• Prepare regular reports on credit exposure, bad debt provisions, and collection performance.
• Manage relationships with credit bureaus and external collection agencies.
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and relevant legislation.
• Identify and recommend improvements to credit management processes.
