Job summary

Pick n Pay in Durban is seeking a hands-on production/quality control lead to ensure meals are prepared to recipe and quantity specifications while maintaining hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards.

You will monitor stock, prevent waste, manage daily production planning, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively with the team to achieve targets within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 is essential.
• Computer literate – advantageous.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that security procedures are adhered to
• Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/expired stock is removed
• Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages
• Complete all relevant administration/documentation
• Monitor budget (expenses, turnover, gross) and take required action
• Plan daily/weekly production of products
• Communicate effectively with employees and management
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in effective working order and operated in accordance with laid down standards
