Job summary

ABB AS in Norway seeks a Senior Field Service Engineer to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical incidents in industrial automation. The role combines hands-on field service, remote support, and project work to keep mission-critical control systems running safely.

You’ll travel 20–50% across onshore and offshore sites, collaborate with Bergen and Hammerfest engineers, and contribute to installation, upgrades, and health checks while delivering strong customer interaction in challenging

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Solid experience with ABB 800xA and/or Advant/Safeguard systems.
Professional proficiency in English.
Willingness to travel approximately 20–50%.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve technical incidents and customer inquiries through our Remedy case management system.
Provide on-site support for customers across Norway, onshore and offshore.
Troubleshoot and restore complex control systems in critical operational environments.
Perform proactive system health checks to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.
Contribute to projects ranging from minor system modifications to larger implementation and upgrade activities.
Collaborate with engineers in Bergen and Hammerfest while working closely with customers and project teams.
