Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin seeks a capable security manager to lead client protection and safety operations in South Africa. You will oversee risk assessment, client liaison, manpower and equipment management, and ensure compliance with SOPs and policies while maintaining professional relationships with clients.

Preferred candidates have PSIRA Grade A, 3–5 years in management within mining, firearm competency, and a clean disciplinary/credit record.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification is required.
• 3–5 years in a management role within a mining environment.
• Firearm competency for handgun, rifle and shotgun.
• Willingness to undergo polygraph testing.
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Security advises to clients and risk assessments.
• Client liaison and professional relationship management.
• Manpower and equipment management.
• Handle client complaints and ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Initiate and chair disciplinary hearings and manage investigations.
• Health & Safety management and incident investigations.
• Ensure SOPs and company policies are followed.
• After-hours visits and standby duties.

Job description

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Security advises to clients;
• Threat and Risk assessment;
• Client liaison and professional client relationship;
• Manpower Management;
• Equipment Management;
• Effectively dealing with and managing client complaints;
• Ensure that contractual requirements are met at all times;
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings;
• Incident and investigation management;
• Ensure compliance to the Company’s disciplinary code;
• Health & Safety management;
• Ensuring Security Officers problems that are reported are solved;
• Ensure that all company SOP’s are followed;
• Ensure BPC policies and procedures are followed at all times;
• Ensure that training takes place as and when required;
• After hour visits and standby duties;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• PSIRA certification – Grade A
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a management position and Mining environment;
• Firearm competency for all 3 firearms (handgun, rifle and shotgun)
• Chrome/Platinum/Illegal Mining Experience;
• Relevant experience as an administrator;
• Must be willing to undergo polygraph test;
• The ability to communicate and present at all levels;
• The ability to work under pressure;
• Fleet management;
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
