Copper Quail is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee operations across mining, drilling and raise-bore projects. The role emphasizes safe delivery, strong budgeting, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams on multiple sites in South Africa.

You will manage budgets, drive compliance (SHEQ) and maintain critical client and supplier relationships while delivering profitable outcomes for complex mining projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Business Management or a related field.
• 8–10 years’ experience in mining, drilling, construction or heavy industrial operations.
• 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Strong experience in contract management, budgeting and multidisciplinary leadership.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a leading mining technology solutions business, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to operations. The role carries responsibility for safe project delivery, operational performance, financial results, client satisfaction and workforce leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO)

• Lead day-to-day contract operations across mining, drilling and raise-bore projects.
• Manage operational budgets, cost control, resources, equipment and workforce performance.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and community stakeholders.
• Drive SHEQ compliance, risk management and continuous operational improvement.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary support functions and provide accurate operational reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Business Management or a related field.
• 8–10 years’ experience in mining, drilling, construction or heavy industrial operations.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Strong experience in contract management, operational budgeting and multidisciplinary team leadership.
• Valid driver’s licence, medical fitness for mining operations and willingness to travel between sites.
• Advanced English communication skills.
