Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a seasoned Security Manager to lead client engagements, perform threat assessments, and ensure safety and compliance across operations.

The role requires PSIRA Grade A, Grade 12, and 3–5 years in mining management, plus firearms competency and polygraph willingness. You will oversee staffing, fleet, investigations, and SOP adherence in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold PSIRA Grade A certification and Grade 12/equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Security advises to clients and conducts threat and risk assessments.
• Liaises with clients and manages relationships.
• Manages manpower and fleet.
• Handles disciplinary hearings and incident investigations.
• Ensures compliance with SOPs, policies, and health & safety.
• Oversees after-hours visits and standby duties.

Job description

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Security advises to clients;
• Threat and Risk assessment;
• Client liaison and professional client relationship;
• Manpower Management;
• Equipment Management;
• Effectively dealing with and managing client complaints;
• Ensure that contractual requirements are met at all times;
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings;
• Incident and investigation management;
• Ensure compliance to the Company’s disciplinary code;
• Health & Safety management;
• Ensuring Security Officers problems that are reported are solved;
• Ensure that all company SOP’s are followed;
• Ensure BPC policies and procedures are followed at all times;
• Ensure that training takes place as and when required;
• After hour visits and standby duties;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• PSIRA certification – Grade A
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a management position and Mining environment;
• Firearm competency for all 3 firearms (handgun, rifle and shotgun)
• Chrome/Platinum/Illegal Mining Experience;
• Investigation/intelligence experience;
• Relevant experience as an administrator;
• Must be willing to undergo polygraph test;
• The ability to communicate and present at all levels;
• The ability to work under pressure;
• Fleet management;
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
• Own transport and accommodation;
