Job summary

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Building Site Foreman to join their team. This hands-on role requires a seasoned construction professional with strong residential and commercial project experience.

The successful candidate will supervise daily site activities, manage labour and subcontractors, monitor progress, ensure compliance with drawings and safety standards, and lead quality control and snagging processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as Building Site Foreman, residential and commercial experience required.
• Strong knowledge of building construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to deliver projects safely and on programme.
• Manage site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant resources.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and address delays.

Our client, a reputable building contractor based in Cape Town, is looking for an experienced Building Site Foreman to join their team. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned construction professional with a strong background across both residential and commercial projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Building Site Foreman - residential and commercial experience both required
• Relevant qualification such as a National Diploma in Building or equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of building construction methods, sequencing, and site operations
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Hands-on experience managing subcontractors, direct labour, and site teams
• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and its practical application on construction sites
• A problem-solving mindset with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership under pressure
• Valid South African driver's licence
• Supervise and coordinate all daily site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
• Manage site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant resources effectively and efficiently
• Monitor construction progress against the project programme; identify potential delays and escal
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and company standards
• Conduct quality control inspections and manage the snagging and close-out process
• Coordinate material deliveries and manage site logistics to maintain uninterrupted workflow
• Attend site meetings and provide clear, accurate progress updates to project management
• Enforce health and safety regulations rigorously and maintain a safe, compliant working environment at all times
• Assist with the planning and scheduling of construction activities across work fronts
• Resolve site-related issues swiftly and practically to keep the project on track
