A leading building contractor is seeking an experienced and highly organised Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate multiple building projects throughout Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction teams, coordinating site operations, and ensuring that all projects are delivered according to programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee multiple building projects across the Cape Town region.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to site-based teams, including Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Site Agents, and Quantity Surveyors.
• Coordinate and manage a high volume of daily emails, reports, correspondence, and project-related communication.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective measures.
• Take full responsibility for the planning, programming, and scheduling of all active building projects.
• Develop, update, and monitor detailed construction programmes using MS Project.
• Coordinate project planning and cost-related information using CCS.
• Ensure effective communication between head office, project teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project performance, resource allocation, productivity, and adherence to construction deadlines.
• Provide regular progress reports and strategic feedback to senior management.
• Ensure that projects comply with company standards, contractual obligations, and relevant health and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant degree, diploma, or qualification in Construction Management, Building Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in a Construction Manager or similar senior management role within the building construction industry.
• Proven experience managing multiple building projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a substantial volume of daily correspondence.
• Advanced MS Project skills are essential.
• Proficiency in CCS is essential.
