Job summary

Shift Pursuit seeks an experienced Civil Construction Manager to lead major infrastructure projects in the Western Cape, from site establishment to completion. You will oversee roadworks, earthworks and pipelaying, coordinating labour, plant and subcontractors while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering qualification, registration would be advantageous, a valid SA driver’s licence, and a track record of 5+ years as a Construction Manager in civil

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP will be advantageous.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Construction Manager on civil engineering projects.
• Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience in civil engineering construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from site establishment through to project completion.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress, quality and productivity.
• Manage project costs and prepare monthly progress claims.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Lead site teams to achieve programme, quality and financial objectives.

Our client, a well-established civil construction company with decades of experience delivering major infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager to join their Western Cape team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the successful delivery of roadworks, earthworks, pipelaying and township development projects while overseeing site operations from inception through to completion.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage construction projects from site establishment through to project completion.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress, quality and productivity.
• Manage project costs and prepare monthly progress claims.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities and other project stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Willingness to travel and work throughout the Western Cape.
