Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Recreation Program Manager to lead and enhance community recreational offerings in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing diverse programs for all ages, driving healthy lifestyles and strong community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in recreation-related fields, proven leadership, and experience managing budgets and staff.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in recreation management or program development.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Knowledge of current trends in recreation, leisure services, and community programming.
Ability to manage budgets and supervise staff effectively.
First Aid and CPR certification is essential.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement innovative recreational programs and activities for diverse community needs.
Manage program budgets, including financial planning, expenditure tracking, and resource allocation.
Supervise and train recreation staff, volunteers, and program facilitators.
Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community groups.
Ensure the safety and quality of all recreational programs and facilities.
Evaluate program effectiveness and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
