Placements24 is seeking a Social Development Facilitator to empower communities in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will assess needs, connect residents with social welfare services, and support development programs on the ground.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field.
• Proven experience in community development work, social facilitation, or project management.
• Strong understanding of socio-economic challenges in rural or semi-urban settings.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse community groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments and facilitate participatory planning processes.
• Connect individuals and families with social welfare services, educational opportunities, and economic empowerment programs.
• Organize and lead community workshops and training sessions on development topics.
• Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including government departments and NGOs.
• Monitor progress of development initiatives and report on impact and challenges.
• Advocate for community needs to authorities and service providers.
