Job summary

EDITION Hotels at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is seeking an experienced kitchen teammate to prepare ingredients, portion foods, and assist with daily kitchen operations. You will handle a variety of cooking tasks, operate ovens and stoves, and ensure food safety standards are met throughout service.

The role requires at least 1 year of related experience, a Matric and culinary qualification, and a collaborative approach to teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Matric and culinary qualification required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Adhere to HACCP and safety procedures in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking and portion food according to recipes and standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness per policies.
• Monitor food quality and safety, report issues to supervisor.
• Assist team to ensure guest service and smooth service.
• Uphold safety and sanitation guidelines and wear PPE as required.
