Job summary

Riseup Management in Durban seeks a seasoned sales professional with 3–5 years in solar PV and related industries to drive commercial opportunities. You will promote PV systems, storage, and backup solutions, build pipelines, and work with our technical team to tailor solutions. Travel within KwaZulu-Natal is required.

You will develop long-term relationships with commercial clients, consultants, and property owners and ensure a smooth handover to operations after project confirmation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years proven sales experience in solar PV or related technical industries.
• Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, grid-tied, hybrid, and storage.
• Experience in commercial/B2B sales is essential.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Computer literacy including email, spreadsheets, proposals, and CRM.

Responsibilities

• Identify and close sales opportunities across commercial, agricultural, industrial, and institutional sectors.
• Promote commercial PV systems, battery storage, and backup power solutions.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline via networking, referrals, site visits, and follow-up.
• Conduct client needs analyses and propose technical solutions with the tech team.
• Prepare proposals, quotations, and ROI discussions for clients.
• Develop long-term relationships with clients and key decision-makers.
• Serve as the main contact from initial engagement to project confirmation.
• Ensure smooth handover to operations and post-sale engagement as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and installation teams to ensure feasible solutions.
