Job summary

Riseup, Durban-based, seeks a highly driven Commercial Solar Sales Executive to grow our PV, battery storage and backup power portfolio. You will own your pipeline, manage from lead to close, and handover to operations with post-sale engagement where needed.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of proven solar sales experience, strong technical knowledge of grid-tied and hybrid PV systems, and a track record in commercial/B2B sales. Valid licence and willingness to travel within KZN are required.

Qualifications

• Proven sales experience (3–5 years) in solar PV/renewables or related tech.
• Strong technical understanding of Solar PV systems, grid-tied & hybrid, and battery storage.
• Experience in commercial/B2B sales.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, proposals, CRM).

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities in commercial, agricultural, industrial and institutional sectors.
• Promote and sell commercial PV systems, battery storage solutions, and backup power systems.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, site visits and follow-up.
• Conduct client needs analyses and propose technical solutions with the technical team.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and ROI discussions.
• Develop long-term relationships with clients, consultants, property owners and decision-makers.
• Act as the key contact from initial engagement through project confirmation.
• Ensure handover to operations and post-sale client engagement as required.
• Maintain records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
• Follow internal sales processes and reporting requirements.
• Work with engineering, procurement and installation teams to ensure feasible delivery.
