Macdonald & Company is seeking a Commercial Property Manager to oversee a growing portfolio across office, retail, industrial and residential sectors in Cape Town. You will be on-site, engaging tenants, managing contractors, solving issues, and driving improvement projects that enhance asset performance.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in commercial property management, and holds a relevant Property, Business, Construction or QS qualification.
Want to be a Property Manager who gets to see the entirety of the asset, not just a slice of it? Our client owns and manages a portfolio of more than 40 properties across the office, retail, industrial and residential sectors, and they're not slowing down anytime soon. With an active acquisition pipeline and ambitious plans to grow their Cape Town portfolio, they're looking for a Commercial Property Manager who wants to help shape that growth. This is the kind of opportunity where you'll work closely with decision-makers, gain exposure to acquisitions and redevelopment projects, and play a meaningful role in the performance and evolution of the assets under management.
This isn't one of those roles where you're stuck behind a desk chasing maintenance issues all day. You'll be out on site, building relationships with tenants, managing contractors, solving problems, driving improvement projects and helping ensure the assets perform at their best. You'll also be involved in redevelopment initiatives, asset enhancement projects, budgeting, feasibilities and the commercial decisions that influence a growing portfolio. Because it's a small team, they're looking for someone who rolls up their sleeves, takes ownership and is comfortable making decisions without needing constant direction. You'll need good commercial instincts, strong people skills and the confidence to push back when something doesn't look right.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years' experience managing commercial properties, a relevant Property, Business, Construction or QS qualification, and solid exposure to technical maintenance. Experience overseeing refurbishments, tenant installations, building upgrades or other value-add projects will be highly regarded, as will exposure to budgets, financial analysis and property feasibilities. Most importantly, they're looking for someone bright, energetic and commercially minded, someone who asks good questions, enjoys solving problems and spots opportunities before being asked to look for them. If you want a role that goes beyond traditional property management and offers exposure to the full property investment lifecycle, we'd love to hear from you.
