About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Commercial Bank Manager to lead their branch operations in Stellenbosch. This leadership role is responsible for driving business growth, managing a team of banking professionals, and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will oversee all aspects of branch operations, including commercial lending, deposit growth, risk management, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of the local market, and a proven ability to meet and exceed business targets within the competitive banking and finance landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing branch team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellent service.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve branch growth targets in lending, deposits, and fee income.
• Oversee commercial lending activities, including credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their financial needs and offering tailored banking solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage branch operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and cost control.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional banking qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in banking, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven track record of success in commercial lending, business development, and P&L management.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent understanding of the Stellenbosch local business community and market dynamics.
