Job summary

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• 3–5 years' relevant experience in logistics, warehouse, cold storage or related operations.
• Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Knowledge of HACCP/BRC standards would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and motivate the Receiving team and ensure daily task allocation.
• Coach employees and address performance and disciplinary matters as needed.
• Ensure effective shift handovers and clear communication within the team.
• Supervise receiving and fruit-handling activities and ensure correct stock placement.
• Monitor stock movements, rotation and accuracy of bin storage.
• Coordinate team to support production requirements and meet time frames.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, Health & Safety and company procedures.

JOB SUMMARY

Two-a-Day is seeking a Receiving Foreman. This permanent, monthly-paid vacancy exists in our Cold Stores - Receiving Department and the successful candidate will report to the Cold Stores Receiving Manager. This position will suit someone who is self-driven, dynamic, analytical, detail- and technology-oriented, with a mindset of continuous evaluation, improvement and drive to perfection.

The key performance areas, performed within a team context, include:

• Team Leadership & Discipline
• Lead, supervise and motivate the Receiving team.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity.
• Coach employees and address performance and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure effective shift handovers and communication within the team.

2. Physical Stock Management

• Ensure bins are correctly received, identified, positioned and stored.
• Maintain an organised and accessible stock area.
• Ensure physical stock movements are executed and captured correctly.
• Monitor stock rotation and correct placement of fruit.
• Identify and report physical stock discrepancies.
• Ensure the team maintains proper stock-handling practices.

3. Operational Execution

• Supervise receiving and fruit-handling activities.
• Ensure bins and fruit are moved according to operational requirements.
• Coordinate the team to support production requirements.
• Ensure daily activities are completed efficiently and within the required time frames.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRC, Health & Safety and company procedures.
• Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
• Report incidents, hazards and operational concerns.

5. Equipment & Resources

• Monitor forklifts and other operational equipment.
• Report breakdowns and follow up with the relevant departments.
• Ensure equipment is used correctly and efficiently.

6. Productivity & Throughput

• Drive team productivity and operational performance.
• Reduce unnecessary waiting time and operational delays.
• Ensure labour is effectively utilized.
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of the receiving operation.

7. Communication

• Work closely with the Cold Chain & Stock Coordinator, Receiving Manager and other relevant
• departments.
• Escalate operational issues promptly.
• Ensure clear communication between shifts and stakeholders.
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• 3–5 years' relevant experience in logistics, warehouse, cold storage, manufacturing, packhouse or similar operations.
