Placements24 is seeking a Civil Site Engineer for coastal development projects in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role involves hands-on site supervision, quality control, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.

You will oversee earthworks, foundations, drainage, and concrete structures, manage site resources, and maintain reports while solving on-site challenges in a dynamic coastal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng registration with ECSA is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction projects, coastal experience a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with site surveying and setting out techniques.
• Strong site management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all on-site civil construction activities including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, and drainage.
• Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality control procedures.
• Conduct daily site inspections and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project team for seamless workflow.
• Manage site resources including labor, equipment and materials for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates, and QC documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Assist in resolving site-specific design and construction challenges.
