The role requires 5+ years of post-graduate experience, BEng/BSc Eng, and professional registration with ECSA. Coastal engineering knowledge and independence are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (BEng or BSc Eng).
• Professional registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate structural engineering design experience.
• Experience with structural design software: Prokon, Etabs, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building types and infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specs.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and relevant regulations.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and structural quality.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate designs.
• Provide technical advice to construction teams and clients.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for structural tasks.
• Assess existing structures and recommend remediation or upgrades.
• Stay updated on new materials and design methodologies.
• Contribute to tender preparation and proposals.
