Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Project Manager with a strong Civil Engineering background to join their client’s team in Paarl, Western Cape. This on-site role focuses on planning, execution, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng is desirable, and at least 7 years of project management experience in roads, water systems, or bridges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management with a substantial focus on civil infrastructure projects (roads, water systems, bridges).
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
• Proven experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and contract negotiations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with relevant project management software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for civil projects.
• Oversee the execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, and regulatory standards.
• Manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient coordination and timely delivery of milestones.
• Implement and monitor stringent health and safety protocols on all project sites.
• Track project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, financial statements, and project documentation for clients and senior management.
