About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and meticulous Chief Surveyor to oversee all surveying activities for their diverse mining projects in the Nelspruit region. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring accurate spatial data acquisition, management, and interpretation to support exploration, mine planning, and construction. You will manage a team of surveyors, implement advanced surveying technologies, and guarantee that all work meets rigorous industry standards and regulatory requirements, playing a vital role in the precise execution of all project phases and maintaining spatial integrity across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute all cadastral, topographical, and engineering surveying tasks for mining projects.
• Develop and implement surveying standards, procedures, and quality control measures.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
• Process and interpret survey data, producing accurate maps, models, and reports for planning and construction.
• Supervise and mentor a team of junior surveyors and survey technicians.
• Liaise with engineers, geologists, and project managers to ensure spatial data supports project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant surveying regulations and legal requirements in Mpumalanga.

Requirements
