Placements24 is seeking an experienced Chief Surveyor to oversee all surveying activities for mining development projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead a team of surveyors, manage equipment, and implement the latest surveying technologies to ensure precise spatial data for mine planning, construction, and operation.

You will guide engineers and construction teams, manage RTK GPS, total stations, and 3D laser scanning, and maintain rigorous standards for land tenure and mining

Qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying, with at least 5 years in the mining or large-scale civil construction industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
• Extensive experience with advanced surveying technologies, including RTK GPS, total stations, and 3D laser scanning.
• Strong knowledge of land tenure, mining regulations, and spatial data management.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
