Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Chief Surveyor for a mine site near Kimberley in South Africa. You will lead survey operations, map infrastructure, and ensure boundary compliance while managing a team of surveyors and technicians.

The ideal candidate has a Professional Land Surveyor qualification, at least 6 years in mine surveying with 2 in supervision, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Surpac. Strong geodetic knowledge and data integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Land Surveyor or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years in mine surveying with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Surpac; understands geodetic methods and DT modeling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all mine surveying activities including topographic and boundary surveys.
• Establish control networks for surface and underground operations.
• Prepare survey plans, drawings, and reports for mine planning.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrate with mine planning software.
• Mentor junior surveyors and survey technicians.
