Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Chief Mining Engineer to lead engineering and technical operations in Centurion. You will drive strategic planning, design, and execution of mining activities, ensuring safety, efficiency and profitability.

The role involves mentoring engineers and geologists and overseeing capital projects with a focus on innovation. The position supports hybrid work with office leadership and remote planning on specific tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mine engineering and operations management.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale mining projects and diverse technical teams.
• Extensive knowledge of open-pit and underground mining methods, equipment, and geology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategic mine planning and operational strategies.
• Oversee the design and execution of mining activities including exploration, development, and production.
• Mentor and manage a team of mining engineers, geologists, and survey professionals.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee major capital expenditure projects and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
