Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Process Engineer to join the Richards Bay facility. You will monitor plant performance, pursue process improvements, and resolve operational issues to maximize efficiency and safety.

The role requires hands-on experience with DCS, strong mass/heat transfer knowledge, and a focus on safety and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience with DCS and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of mass and heat transfer in chemical processes.
• Knowledge of safety systems and HAZOP analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day plant operations, analyzing process data to identify deviations and potential issues.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and develop corrective actions with the operations team.
• Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, operating procedures, and training materials for plant personnel.
