Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer to join their industrial facility in Benoni. The role focuses on day-to-day operation, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.

You will work closely with plant operators, maintenance teams, and management to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, delivering measurable improvements in yield and plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical plant or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering, process control, and instrumentation.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and hazard analyses.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel or specialized software.
• Excellent troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control chemical processes for optimal performance and quality.
• Troubleshoot deviations and malfunctions; implement corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analyses and develop preventative measures.
• Develop and implement process improvements to boost yield and reduce waste.
