Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Engineer for a hybrid role in East London, Eastern Cape. You will monitor process parameters, analyze data, and drive improvements to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
The ideal candidate has a degree in chemical engineering and 3–5 years in chemical manufacturing or quality assurance, with strong analytical skills and experience with SPC and data analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 3-5 years in chemical manufacturing or QA.
- Strong process principles knowledge.
- Experience with data analysis, SPC, and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of LIMS or statistical software is a plus.
- Able to work on-site and remote analytical/reporting tasks.
- Familiarity with solvents production is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Monitor process parameters to ensure product quality.
- Analyze production data and identify optimization opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analyses for quality deviations.
- Develop and validate new or improved manufacturing processes.
- Support ISO 9001 quality management system implementation.
- Collaborate with production, QC, and R&D on process issues.
- Assist in updating SOPs and batch records.
- Contribute to process safety reviews and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare reports on process performance and improvements.
