Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer for its East London site to enhance manufacturing operations. The role focuses on process optimization, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements to ensure efficiency, product quality and safety.

A hybrid work model is offered with on-site plant analysis and remote data modeling/reporting. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years in manufacturing, strong process simulation, data analysis and SPC

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical process engineering within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong expertise in process simulation, data analysis, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proven track record of successful process optimization and troubleshooting projects.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies is essential.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both on-site plant environments and remotely.
• Experience with batch and continuous manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead process optimization initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and implement robust process control strategies.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to address production challenges.
• Manage process improvement projects from conception to completion.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Stay current with technological advancements in chemical process engineering.
