Job summary

Papenfus Retail Consultants CC operates a Pick n Pay store in Upington, South Africa. We are seeking a Frontline Cashier to provide efficient, friendly service, handle cash transactions, scan goods, and ensure accurate totals while upholding store standards.

You will balance till at start and end of shifts, assist customers with promotions, maintain tidy counters, and comply with SOPs and safety rules. Weekend and peak trading shifts are required; Grade 12 and 1 year cashier experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year cashier experience in a retail environment.
• Able to operate POS systems, barcode scanners, payment terminals and related checkout equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and process purchases efficiently.
• Scan items, confirm prices, and ensure correct totals.
• Handle cash, card, vouchers, and loyalty payments.
• Pack purchases and assist with bagging when required.
• Inform customers about promotions and loyalty programmes.
• Resolve customer queries or complaints with patience and refer unresolved issues to the Supervisor.
