Job summary

Papenfus Retail Consultants CC is seeking a Frontline Cashier in Upington to deliver efficient checkout service with a friendly attitude and accurate cash handling. You will promote promotions, assist customers, and maintain till accuracy.

The role requires at least Grade 12, 1 year of cashier experience, and ability to operate POS systems and payment terminals. Weekend and peak periods availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience as a cashier in retail.
• Ability to operate POS systems, barcode scanners and payment terminals.
• Strong English and Afrikaans communication for customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and process purchases efficiently.
• Scan items, confirm prices and totals.
• Handle all payment methods including cash, cards, vouchers and loyalty points.
• Pack purchases and assist with bagging when needed.
• Maintain professional, friendly service and inform customers about promotions and loyalty programmes.
• Address customer queries or complaints and refer unresolved issues to the Supervisor.
