Retail Cashier

Operate cash registers, accurately process acceptable methods of payment, and resolve customer queries.

• Providing outstanding customer service to deliver a WOW experience.
• Attending to unique and individual shopping needs of each customer and always putting the Customer first.
• Adhering to all basic customer service standards to ensure customers receive prompt and efficient service.
• Selling goods and adding on sales and services at POS.
• Preparing for the start of day and accepting all transactions according to standard operating procedures.
• Adhering to all merchandising and housekeeping standards and schedules.
• Operating cash registers and receiving payments for goods purchased by customers.
• Examining returned goods and reporting back to Managers for appropriate actions.
• Ensuring that all POS is in accordance with standard operating procedures on the sales floor.
• Preparing, implementing and maintaining all advertised sales promotions at POS.
• Ensuring that goods are correctly priced and displayed at POS.
• Participating in stock takes and stock counts.
• Minimizing stock loss.
• Minimizing expenses in area of responsibility.
• Maximizing sales in all areas.
• Protecting Company’s assets in area of responsibility.

Entry Requirements

• Matric Certificate.
• At least 6 months of retail experience.
• Own or reliable transport to be able to work shifts.

General

• Undertake any other relevant duties requested by Senior Management.
• Undertake all mandatory and service training as required.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
• Undertake an appraisal and personal development review regularly.
• Take responsibility and accountability for being up to date with current SOPs.
• Fully cooperate in the introduction of any new technology and new methods.
